In 1814, Washington, DC was not much more than a village with a few grand buildings (only 14 years old as the new nation’s federal capital). It was nearly wiped out of existence by a British invasion during the War of 1812. Nearly every federal building was burned including the White House and the US Capitol Building. Numerous opportunities were missed to avoid the calamity, but something amazing happened that spared DC. Come ride the avenues the Brits set ablaze and hear some of the fascinating stories, acts of heroism, and amazing natural circumstances that kept our beautiful city from total destruction.

Have a little one with you? Maybe even two or three? Great - let me safely chauffeur them around DC for you. For several years, I've enjoyed pedaling my twins around DC in our customized family “precious cargo bike.” The comfy cushion lined box can carry one or two children (and with the trailercycle attached I can even pedal three kids!). The super low center of gravity makes this bike super safe - like a Pope-Mobile for kids. They also get to enjoy being up front with an unobstructed view. There is no additional charge - I love pedaling this bike and sharing the fun my own family enjoys with this super cool bike.
An adult or young person can ride along even if they don’t know how to ride, have balance issues, or want to be chauffeured in style!
Electric assist or e-bikes are not a free ride. The electric motor assists your pedaling to help make hills feel easier. Feel free to call me to discuss whether you’ll need an e-bike or multiple e-bikes for your tour. There is an additional charge for each e-bike. Actual model(s) may differ from the model shown.
Dog Friendly Tours are an Option Too!
